Currently in progress in the studio is this seascape which I am painting in oil using palette knives on canvas. I always enjoy using Palette knives as they free me from my usually tight painting style.
Also currently in the studio is this small land/skyscape painting.

Large scale seascape Commission
Here are some photos of one of my recent large scale seascapes which I have been painting as a commission.
You can see the painting in the early stages in the studio and on the right the now finished painting ready for its frame and new home!

UPDATE: Following on from the Seascape above I have since produced a second painting.
During the summer I always like to spend some time in Perranporth, North Cornwall. During my visit in 2013 I spent much time walking along the beach at low tide into the town for something to eat at my favourite local fish and chip shop "Pickwicks".
I love the ripples in the sand left at low tide and took some photographs and made some sketches. When I was back in the studio I set to work on the oil painting above.
I like to break the rules of composition and the bottom heavy layout of this canvas is something I thought might work for this subject.
The painting is nearing completion in the studio and I will post more photos soon.
